OPTIMUS SOLUTIONS ACHIEVES 33% GROWTH IN
2006 WITH ENCHANCED SERVICE OFFERINGS, KEY EMPLOYEE HIRES
Company’s 2007 Growth to Be Fueled by New Business
Practices.
NORCROSS, GEORGIA — January, 2007 — Optimus Solutions,
a comprehensive technology solutions provider, announces 2006 revenues
of $122 million, up 33% over last year’s $92 million. This is Optimus’
eighth consecutive year of growth, which the company attributes
to acquisitions that have enhanced service offerings, the formation
of new business practices, and several key employee hires.
“2006 was a year of tremendous growth for Optimus. We added new
talent and acquired some companies that have allowed us to expand
our solutions offerings in order to better serve our customers,”
said Mark Metz, CEO of Optimus Solutions.
Optimus formed new business practices in Disaster Recovery, Solutions
Outsourcing and the Healthcare vertical. These new business practices,
which the company launched in response to growing customer needs
in these spaces, are headed by industry veterans Ben Thornton, Shawn
Fields and Bob Shapiro, who have years of hands-on skills and experience.
Ben Thornton, with 16 years of industry leadership, heads the firm’s
Business Continuity and Disaster Recovery practice, which provides
products and services to enable any organization to be disaster-ready.
Shawn Fields, a 20-year industry veteran, joins Optimus as vice
president of Solutions Outsourcing. This new division of Optimus
manages the “non-essential” portions of a client’s IT business and
frees them up to focus on the core areas of their businesses. Bob
Shapiro leads Optimus’ healthcare vertical. With 20 years of healthcare
and life sciences experience, Bob’s focus is in leveraging Optimus'
infrastructure and consulting resources to deliver completely integrated
solutions in the healthcare and life science industry.
“Optimus Solutions was founded on the principles of hiring the best
employees and providing outstanding customer service. By establishing
these three new business practices and hiring Ben, Shawn and Bob
to run them, Optimus is holding true to these principles,” said
Steve Johnson, President of Optimus Solutions.
Another key factor in Optimus’ growth was the acquisition of Paaridian
Technologies, a top IBM business partner in the Southeast. Paaridian’s
extensive technical expertise in virtualization and infrastructure
services added depth and breadth to Optimus’ IBM offerings. Optimus
also launched IBM System i Managed Hosting services in 2006, a flexible,
cost-effective way for mid-market customers to achieve high availability
with the computing power of System i (AS/400) while maintaining
99.9% system uptime.
