Executive Dashboards
Dashboards can bring many measurements together and provide qualitative answers to fundamental questions
about a business, alert people when problems occur, and help users
make decisions. But they are only as effective as an organization's
ability to collect and filter through mountains of raw data. To
increase the chance of a successful dashboard implementation, make
sure your data sources support the story you want to tell.
A successful dashboard helps expedite the decision-making process
by addressing the following user needs:
It provides answers to fundamental questions about a business or a
business unit. Each executive relies on statistics called Key
Performance Indicators (KPIs). A dashboard provides a quick snapshot

quickly.

It alerts users when something goes wrong. When a critical event
occurs or is about to occur, a dashboard will notify users.
